Hugh Greenup has been an attorney and principal working in commercial real estate investment and development for over 30 years. During Mr. Greenup’s career, he has been involved as an attorney and senior real estate executive in the acquisition, entitlement, development and leasing of millions of square feet of commercial real estate across California. More specifically, he has expertise in the following areas:
- commercial real estate purchase and sale agreements
- commercial lease negotiations on behalf of tenants and landlords
- real estate litigation including construction disputes, lease disputes, mechanic’s liens and title and easement disputes
Initially, Mr. Greenup worked in the real estate practice of a Los Angeles area law firm, then moved into senior management at a large private commercial development and ownership group based in Orange County. Since 2008, Mr. Greenup has practiced real estate and land use law exclusively throughout California, and has been of counsel to the firm since 2012.
Mr. Greenup holds an A.B. degree from the University of California, Los Angeles, and J.D. degree from the University of California, San Francisco Hastings College of Law. Both degrees were awarded with honors. Mr. Greenup was also awarded the Walter Herzfeld Fellowship For The Study of International Law by New York University.
In addition, Hugh serves on the Board of Directors of the National Conference For Community and Justice (North Bay District), and the New Roads School Board of Directors Advisory Committee and is an avid surfer.
